Soil Remediation

Restoring Contaminated Lands

Many industrial applications cause severe soil contamination, including petroleum drilling, refineries, power generation, mining, and military manufacturing. Contaminated soil may contain hydrocarbons, heavy metals, and toxic chemicals that destroy biological activity and threaten groundwater. SMIW Co. has over two decades of expertise in contaminated soil remediation across Saudi Arabia and the GCC.

Thermal Desorption Technology

This technology physically separates volatile and semi-volatile hydrocarbon pollutants from contaminated soil and oily sludge through indirect heating at high temperatures (170 to 450 °C) under vacuum pressure. Hydrocarbons are recovered from the gas stream via a specialized condensing system for reuse. The treated soil is processed to ensure Total Petroleum Hydrocarbons (TPH) drop below 1%.

Soil Stabilization / Solidification

We remediate soil contaminated with heavy metals, acids, and alkaline materials via Solidification/Stabilization to reduce the mobility of contaminants. Binding agents such as cement and lime are introduced to restrict contaminant migration, converting hazardous constituents into a non-hazardous, stable form that is securely disposed of in our Class I Landfills.
